Q: What is Life 423?
A: This is a mentorship-based program dedicated to the emotional and spiritual development of middle school girls in the Cleveland area. Life 423's name and values are based off the verse Proverbs 4:23, "Guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life." The program meets weekly on Thursdays after school from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Q: What happens during a typical Life 423 Program?
A: The program begins with snack and social time, and then has a game, worship, lesson, small groups, and ends at journal time where the middle school girls and the college volunteers write back and forth in journals forming a mentor-mentee relationship.

Q: What are the steps for joining Life 423?
A: All middle school girls are welcome to come to the program after school. The girls will receive a permission slip for parental consent to bring back to the following program.

Q: Is the club just for girls?
A: Yes, but there is also a partnership ministry for boys called Living Examples Ministry.

Q: Who can attend?
A: Girls from the sixth to the eighth grade who are registered in a Cleveland middle school are eligible to attend. The program is free to all participants.

Q: When and where do they meet?
A: Meetings are located at the Lake Forest and Ocoee middle schools weekly on Thursdays between 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. See "schools" to find the specific meeting rooms for the particular middle school.

Q: What are the benefits of Life 423?
A: This program allows girls the opportunity to learn how to face difficult issues in middle school including relationships, gossip, friends, parents, hurt, disorders etc. The mentoring small group leaders are also there to encourage the girls through interaction and journaling communication where girls can write to their leaders privately and the leaders can respond on a weekly basis.

Q: Who are the mentors?
A: Lee University female students ranging from freshmen to seniors. These girls have been through an application process and have been carefully interviewed. They are chosen based on their character, Christ-like attributes, and passion for helping middle school girls.

Q: What are the lesson topics at Life 423?
A: The lessons are founded from Biblical teachings and are incorporated with practical application for middle school girls. Some of these lessons have included topics such as, the love of God, friendship, acceptance, the words we speak, boys and relationships, forgiveness, salvation, prayer etc.
